Intern (17) at NASA discovers a new planet on his third day

Science

As an intern you want to show the back of your tongue. You want to get the most out of your internship and show your supervisors that you are an asset to the team.

And whether 17-year-old Wolf Cukier is an asset. The boy is doing an internship at NASA and was given the task of studying minute differences in the light of stars. He saw something crazy and this turned out to be a new planet. The planet is almost seven times the size of the earth and is 1300 light-years away from us. “His” planet is named TOI 1338b.

It is not the first time a trainee at NASA has discovered a new planet: Five years ago, a 15-year-old encountered the planet WASP-142b.

If we are talking about an internship: Mashable Benelux is looking for interns! This video explains exactly what your duties will be (besides being allowed to work for the most fun company in the Benelux of course).
