There is every chance that Les Moonves, the CEO of CBS Network, might well be on the verge of moving out from his position, as per the new report that has been published by CNBC. The CEO, who is now cornered, has been accused of getting involved in sexual harassment by six women and negotiations going around making Moonves step down as Chairman of the CBS Corporation.
It is expected that Les Moonves would walk away from his post in the organization with an exit package, which is set to be valued at a high of $100 million. The interim replacement for the outgoing CEO, Moonves would be Joe Ianniello, who is serving as the current Chief Operating Officer of CBS.
The allegations over the harassment of six women, against Moonves, had first come to light in the month of July. Ronan Farrow had covered the story in the New Yorker, wherein it was mentioned that six women, out of whom, one was actress Illeana Douglas, accused Moonves that he had touched as well as kissed them without their permission. Most of the women said that they believed, the fact they had refused the favors from Moonves, ultimately resulted in their careers getting hampered in Hollywood. This statement made Moonves respond by saying that he might have made some women feel uncomfortable all through his career but he was firm on the fact that he had never ever tried to misuse his position, which he held in CBS.
Les Moonves has carried out his responsibilities as the Executive of CBS for more than 20 years, with him joining the network, way back in the year 1995 as the President of CBS Entertainment. The promotion of Moonves to become the Chairman and CEO of CBS had happened 8 years after his entry into the organization, i.e. in the year 2003. Julien Chen, who hosts two shows of Big Brother and The Talk for CBS, is the wife of Moonves. She had issued a statement, which clearly showed support for her husband soon after the allegation had begun to make headlines.
